Handwriting font finder
Cursive and script faces are the hardest case in font identification — their letters connect, so they can’t be measured one at a time. This tool matches them as a whole word instead.

How to identify a script or handwriting font
- Crop a single word where the letters are as separate as the face allows.
- If the tool can’t split the letters, it says so — check the detected-letters editor and correct what it did read.
- Compare the ranked results by eye; for connected scripts the top five matter more than number one.
Honest expectations for cursive text
- Joined-up lettering cannot be measured per letter, so this case is labelled as suggestions rather than confident answers.
- Print-style handwriting (separate letters, like Comic Sans or Architects Daughter) matches far more reliably than true cursive.
- Flourishes, swashes and ligatures distort shape scores — crop through the calmest part of the word you can find.
The catalog behind the matcher includes hundreds of script, display and handwriting families from Google Fonts. Browse them all on the fonts page, or use the screenshot font finder for cleaner printed samples.
