How to identify a logo font
- Find the highest-resolution version of the logo you can — an SVG export or press kit beats a screenshot.
- Crop to just the lettering, excluding icons, taglines and registered marks.
- Fix any misread letters in the editor before matching.
What to expect from logo lettering
- Many logos are drawn artwork, not typeset text — expect a close relative rather than an exact name, which is still enough to recreate the look.
- All-caps wordmarks carry less identifying detail than lowercase; results lean toward “similar” rather than “strong”.
- If the match is a commercial face like Helvetica or Gotham, every result includes a free alternative such as Inter or Montserrat.
- Straight-on, unrotated crops always beat perspective shots of signage.
Once identified, open any match’s detail page for a specimen, download link and copy-paste CSS. Your image stays on your device — matching runs entirely in your browser.
